I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with special education in Sociology and Behavioral Psychology. I graduated from Western Michigan University and from graduate school at Seattle Pacific University. I treat families, including some with different ethnic backgrounds, and focus on the resolution of family violence. Harmony Counseling hopes to provide help to all family members affected by violence in their lives and their journey through the legal system. I am also a Forensic Counselor with a strong background in criminal justice as a Certified Clinical Criminal Justice Specialist and a Certified Domestic Violence Supervisor as well as years of experience as a Domestic Violence Program Manager. I have also worked as a probation officer for juvenile sexual offenders. I volunteered for five years as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for King County Superior Court to help children in dissolution matters. I chaired the Domestic Violence Impact Panel for the Federal Way Domestic Violence Task Force, and I recently became a Guardian ad Litem for the Pierce and King County Superior Courts. My clinical framework draws on several therapeutic modalities, allowing me to create a sensitive, respectful client-centered environment. |
